RD-200 LEGAL ISSUES FOR MINISTERS 2
Provides legal guidelines for rendering services to the community. This course is a continuation of RD-101. Course content will focus on partnering/collaborative agreements, fundraising, community partnerships, Chaplaincy, social services. Topics will include; contracts, leases, zoning, credentialing, bookkeeping, spreadsheets, IRS requirements for a church, EIN, 501-C status, taxes, fundraising, community activism & referrals.
RD-201 SERMON PREPARATION 2
Provides seminary students with the format for developing sermons for different audience types. Course content will guide students through refining subject and topic selection, and reference points toward the presentation of a standard or complex sermon suitable for different audiences.
RD-202 PUBLIC SPEAKING 2
Continuation of RD-103. Provides a timed-practice platform for public speaking. The principles of public speaking and select various types of speeches will be defined and analyzed. Topic selection; speech organization; creating outlines; audience analysis; content and presentation aids (verbal and nonverbal) and techniques of managing nervousness. The student will prepare and deliver an informative, persuasive and evocative (humorous) speech. This course meets concurrent with RD-201 Sermon Preparation.
RD-203 PROCEDURE and PROTOCOL 2
Provides an advanced format of conducting services, meetings, rites and rituals, and special ceremonies.
HP-200 BIBLICAL HISTORY: NT (NEW TESTAMENT)
Intense discussion of the New Testament writings of the Holy Bible with exploration of the Four Gospels. Course content will focus on the life and times of Jesus the Christ, New Testament prophets, the early church, the book of Revelations, and the fulfillment of biblical promises. The course will examine the impact of the Four Gospels on the role of the post-modern church. Course content will encourage spiritual thought and engage discussion about the influence of these writings on the development and perpetuation of various beliefs and practices.
HP-201 OVERVIEW OF WORLD RELIGIONS 2
A continuation of the introduction to the beliefs and practices of various world religions. Course content invites students to focus on similarities rather than differences that exist among the multi-faceted religious community.
HP-202 SPIRITUAL INTERPRETATION OF SCRIPTURE 2
Spiritual insight on some of the most quoted passages of the Holy Bible. Course focus is the spiritual interpretation, implication, and application of biblical for the advancement of spiritual understanding.
HP-204 SPECIAL TOPICS
Presents select topics of importance to developing seminary students: The Ultimate Reality: God; Dispensations-Ages, Times, Eras; Avatarship; Reincarnation; Astral World; Salvation vs Enlightenment; Thought Dynamics; The Kingdom of God: Omnipresence, Omnipotence, Omniscience, One Power.
IM-200 LEADERSHIP 2
Presents the most desirable leadership styles and traits to help prepare seminary students to become agents of change in the community and the world. Course content will enhance student ability to function as a transformational leader through optimal utilisation of the Gospel.
IM-201 DEFENDING THE FAITH 2
Presents biblical references of scriptural passages that support our spiritual doctrine. Course content will focus on scriptural passages that support the tenets of spiritual philosophy of the indwelling God.
PRACTICUM
The culmination of Ministers Seminar II is the Practicum. A randomly selected student(s) will present a previously graded sermon in one of two practicum sessions (April or August). The grade for the practicum is Pass (P) or Fail (F). Should the number of student presentations outweigh the number of practicum sessions available, grading will revert to the Official Grading Scale to determine the grade of Pass (P) or Fail (F). Student participation is mandatory.
